Does 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' after-credits scene set up a new team of Guardians?

Chris Pratt, in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2," may find himself competing against other Guardians in a quasi-sequel.

The May 5 opening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still more than a week away, but word is already out about the movie's five after-credits scenes. While two are just plain fun, three deal with the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And one's a biggie.

So, without giving anything away about the film itself, here is my take on the most significant after-credits scene.

Though much was made of having Sylvester Stallone on board for Guardians 2, his screen time is minimal - which makes one wonder why Kevin Feige would pay Stallone money for a small role.

Until you see the after-credits scene.

There, Stallone's character, Stakar Ogord, a/k/a Starhawk, is seen with a new team, consisting of  Michelle Yeoh as Aleta, Ving Rhames as Charlie 27 and characters recognizable as Kangarr and Mainframe. Director James Gunn has let it slip that Mainframe will be voiced by Miley Cyrus.

This team of "Ravagers" were the original "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the comics and had most of their recent adventures take place in the 31st Century.

So, since a team with this much star power was likely not set up to be lost in one of the Avengers: Infinity War films or another Guardians sequel starring Chris Pratt, I'm guessing we will see something along the lines of "Guardians 3000" to give these characters and actors their due and enough screen time to develop and breathe.
