No, Kevin Hart probably did not name his child after a Philly neighborhood

Although, can we still pretend he did?

Kevin Hart and wife Eniko Parrish announced the name of their expected baby boy, but before Philadelphians get too excited, it probably has nothing to do with Kensington.

The couple celebrated their son over the weekend with a jungle-themed baby shower in Malibu, where they revealed the baby's name: Kenzo.

"Kenzos mama," mom Parrish, 33, wrote on Instagram last weekend, showing off her baby bump, according to People. Attendees at the party also posted the baby's name to social media:

In Philly, many folks recognize "Kenzo" as a way to describe an inhabitant of the city's Kensington neighborhood, or as a nickname of the neighborhood itself. Either way, according to the slang pros at the online Urban Dictionary, the term isn't generally positive; its top definition is someone who "lacks class" and is often "known for substance abuse."

However, Hart probably wasn't going for that usage. Dude isn't even from Kensington. Thirteenth and Erie, where Hart grew up, is on the border of Franklinville and Hunting Park.

Instead, Hart's reasoning is likely something rooted in Japanese culture.

Name-sleuthing website About Names explains that the name Kenzo is sometimes given to the third child of a family, and in kanji is often written using a character representing the number three when used in that context. The Japanese name Saburo is another frequently used name for a family's third child, and translates to "third son."

Kenzo will be Hart's third child behind daughter Heaven, 12, and son Hendrix, 9.

Hart's impending bundle of joy, however, isn't the only child of a celebrity to be named Kenzo. In 2009, Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou named their son Kenzo. He was Simmons' third child after daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee. Simmons and Hounsou separated in 2012.

News of Hart and Parrish's name choice comes weeks after a sex and extortion scandal surrounding the Philly-born comedian broke.

Hart last month posted a video to Instagram addressing an alleged extortion attempt over a "sexually provocative" video of the comedian and stripper Montia Sabbag made during an August weekend in Las Vegas.

Sabbag has since denied any involvement in the alleged extortion attempt. Attorney Lisa Bloom claimed Sabbag was a victim, just like Hart.

Hart, meanwhile, has since joked about the scandal in his stand-up act, telling a crowd in Atlanta last month that "we got a lot of s— to talk about, people."

"Things happen for a reason," Hart said during the set. "In this particular case, I promise you, I'm going to come out a better man and father than I've ever been."

Hart's next project, Jumanji, is scheduled for a Dec. 20 release.
