This round of Idol auditions is the first under new parent network ABC, which picked up the show following Fox's cancellation of the series. Idol aired a "farewell season" on Fox last year (singer Trent Harmon won), with ABC announcing its return in early May. So far, singer Katy Perry has been announced as a judge:

Philadelphia was last included on an Idol audition tour in 2015, when the show came to town to hear singers for what would be its final season on Fox, season 15. Prior to that, Idol hit Philly in 2008.
