Kevin Hart plans to send 10 Philadelphia teens to college this year, the comedian recently announced on Instagram.

"Philadelphia, I've made a decision to send 10 kids to college this year. Ten kids will get an education free, courtesy of Kevin Hart and HartBeat Productions," Hart said in a video posted to the social media site Friday. "I support dreamers baby. We're going to make our presence felt."

Hart didn't offer details but called the announced scholarships one of several "major moves" ahead, and added that there was "more information to come soon."

The scholarships are Hart's most recent philanthropic focus; last month, he challenged celebrities to donate money to victims of Hurricane Harvey after donating $25,000 to the American Red Cross himself. Locally, Hart has given $50,000 scholarships to four Philly high school students, and $250,000 to the School District of Philadelphia for technology upgrades.

Hart grew up at 13th and Erie in North Philly. He was honored with the city's first "Kevin Hart Day" in July with a mural unveiling at Max's Steaks.

Hart recently made headlines after issuing an apology to his family over an alleged extortion attempt. According to TMZ, an unidentified woman demanded the comedian pay her millions of dollars to keep secret a "sexually suggestive video" the two allegedly made. A rep from Hart's camp has since issued a statement indicating that "someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt."

Hart has admitted to a "bad error in judgement" but offered few details.

"I'm at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back," Hart said in an Instagram video addressing the incident. "And because of that I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn't. You know, I'm not perfect. I'm not going to sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way, shape, or form. And I made a bad error in judgement and I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen, and they did."

The FBI is investigating the situation, TMZ reports.
