Report: Former Eagle to compete on upcoming season of 'The Bachelorette'

A former Eagle will reportedly compete on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette.

According to reality TV reporter Reality Steve, tight end Clay Harbor, 30, is a contestant on the show's fourteenth season, which begins airing May 28 on ABC. Harbor played for the Eagles from 2010 to 2013, and is currently on the New Orleans Saints' injured reserve list.

Former tight end Harbor will compete for the affection of Becca Kufrin, 27, a Minnesota native and winner of season 22 of The Bachelor, where she initially won the affections of Indy car racer Arie Luyendyk Jr. That is, until he changed his mind. In a controversial move, Luyendyk left Kufrin and started a relationship with runner-up Lauren Burnham before the show's After the Final Rose wrap-up special hit the airwaves. Kufrin was announced as the new Bachelorette on this show's finale.

As Reality Steve — who is known for posting The Bachelor and Bachelorette victors at the beginning of each season —  noted in a Twitter posting, Harbor used Snapchat on Tuesday to post an image of Kufrin with a heart drawn around her. The tight end also put up an image with a rose emoji on his Instagram story on Tuesday, seeming to callback to the show again, reality TV blog HiddenRemote reports. That posting came at about the same time Kufrin was announced as the next Bachelorette.

So, while nothing is official, Harbor is strongly indicating online that he's on the show, would like to be, or is oddly obsessed with a publicist from Minnesota in her late twenties.

So far, five Bachelorette contestants have been announced, which means Harbor faces some competition. Fellow suitors include University of Wisconsin football player Darius Feaster, Orlando ad man Chase Vergason, and Denver-based Coors sales rep Blake Horstmann, according to Reality Steve.

Harbor, meanwhile, has played in a total of 98 games in the NFL since starting with the Eagles in 2010. In that time, he's run more than 1100 yards and scored eight touchdowns, with the last back in 2015. What put him on the injured reserve list currently has not been disclosed.
