Foo Fighters are mortals, too, it seems. The band on Tuesday said frontman Dave Grohl has had surgery to fix his broken right leg. The band has had to cancel tour dates through the end of the month.

The great British thesp John Hurt, 75, on Tuesday announced that he's been diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer. Hurt, who was was knighted by HRH Queen Elizabeth II last year, says he's undergoing treatment and is "more than optimistic about a satisfactory outcome, as indeed is the medical team."
