Actress shares her secret struggle with the big C

Twin TV star in town for nonprofits’ hefty announcement

BRITTANY DANIEL, one of the blond-bombshell identical twins from the TV drama "Sweet Valley High," shared her story of surviving Stage 4 cancer at the American Association for Cancer Research's annual meeting last night in Center City.

She had kept it under wraps for awhile, but Daniel was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2011. Last year, she decided it was time to break her silence.

"I felt like this was important to fully heal," Daniel told me.

Hosted by the media-driven nonprofit Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), the evening event at the Marriott Downtown (1201 Market St.) centered around the announcement of two new "dream teams" of four cancer-clobbering organizations that got $26 million in grants to battle lung and ovarian cancers.

"I wanted to help other people going through cancer . . . [SU2C] has been such a great support system to me. To be able to share my story about my dad has just been an 'honor."

Daniel's dad succumbed to lung cancer seven years ago. She is currently cancer-free.

Wedding watch for wake-up woman

If you were watching the morning news on CBS3 yesterday and felt like you needed sunglasses, it might have been from that giant rock twinkling from anchor Erika von Tiehl's ring finger.

That's right, co-anchor Ukee Washington couldn't refrain from announcing the news of Von Tiehl's engagement live, on air, for Eyewitness News viewers. She will wed her boyfriend of two years, Charles Kincaid, in the spring or summer of 2016.

"I've been just staring at my left hand and almost bumping into people and buildings," von Tiehl ribbed with her co-hosts yesterday.

The pair met in March 2013 at a social event at Bru (1316 Chestnut St.). She tells me that he popped the question on Thursday at Waterfront Park, in Charleston, S.C.

'Dream' wedding for Philly power couple

Former Miss Pennsylvania USA and 76ers dancer Amber-Joi Watkins married sweetheart Tom Domalski at the Ritz-Carlton (10 Avenue of the Arts) on Saturday.

Watkins, a former Daily News Sexy Single and Ivy League grad, took time out from honeymooning in Bora Bora yesterday to dish me some delightful wedding details.

"My wedding was the happiest day of my life. I enjoyed every second - from the rehearsal dinner to our pre-party at my husband's nightclub, CODA, to the Distrito Taco Truck we had after the reception, and everything in between . . . I'm still taking it all in," she said.

Domalski and Watkins host an annual Super Bowl party at their home, a penthouse once owned by former Phillies outfielder Pat Burrell.

Congrats, from this newlywed.

Dinner at Del's for pigskin pals

My restaurant spies tell me that Kim Kardashian's ex-boyfriend, Miles Austin, dined at Del Frisco's (1426 Chestnut St.) Saturday night.

Austin, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, was joined by a fellow Bird, running back DeMarco Murray. Both men have had a longtime run together on the field, as they are former Dallas Cowboys.
