A million-dollar mansion for mom of local rising star?

’Empire’ stars in town today; one has high aspirations for his mom.

THIS GOES to show that fame doesn't always go straight to one's head.

Bryshere Gray and Jussie Smollett, of the Fox prime-time TV series "Empire" can be found at the FYE store (100 S. Broad St.) in Center City at 4 p.m. today signing autographs.

The pair appears on the new soundtrack of "Empire" and will be signing copies for those who buy the CD.

Sunday morning, a photographer from TMZ caught up with Gray - who hails from Philadelphia - at Reagan National Airport, in Washington, D.C. The paparazzo asked Gray what he planned to do with the money from his newfound success. The actor/rapper had a rather humble reply.

"I'm saving up for my mom to get this million-dollar house," he said.

Both Gray, a/k/a "Yazz the Greatest," and Smollett have recently been signed with Columbia Records as solo acts.

"Although I'm happy he would think of me first, I would rather him save his money and invest it - and then he can take care of me," said his mother, Andria Mayberry, who chatted with me yesterday and also posed for our street-fashion photographer, Reuben Harley (see Street Shot in today's paper).

NBC10 reporter to hear wedding bells

Another newscaster hottie is off the market - or soon will be.

Christine Maddela, NBC10's reporter assigned to the station's Skyforce 10 helicopter, flashed her beautiful new diamond ring Saturday morning on Twitter with the words, "So . . . this happened . . . "

Maddela said "yes" to longtime love Christopher Goss on Friday evening at Centennial Park, in Nashville, Tenn. - the very same spot where they had their first date several years earlier, Maddela told me.

"I never saw this coming," she said. "I wasn't at all prepared. I've never been the girl who thought about wedding dresses. I've never been ring shopping . . . but this is something I will never forget."

'Hell's Kitchen' local to host viewing party

Local "Hell's Kitchen" contestant Christine Hazel will be stirring up some of her signature dishes for everyone to sample tonight for a special viewing party at South Philly's Chickie's and Pete's (1526 Packer Ave.).

Hazel, chef adviser for the Chickie's & Pete's restaurant group, will watch the airing of Episode 5 of Season 14 of "Hell's Kitchen" while serving up food. The show airs at 7 p.m. on Fox 29.

Daughter of NFL Bengal 'beat up cancer'

Last week on Fox 29's "Good Day Philadelphia," Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still talked with show hosts Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley on how his daughter, Leah, is now in remission from cancer. The 4-year-old had been diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that afflicts nerve tissue, often in children.

During the interview, Leah expressed her desire to see her father play for the Philadelphia Eagles, as opposed to the Cincinnati Bengals. That swap would put the Camden native closer to his hometown and also to his alma mater, Penn State.

Still said that his daughter was treated at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania. When doctors called with the results from a bone biopsy, "I kind of sat in the car just feeling numb," he told Jerrick and Holley.

"She asked me, 'Did I beat up cancer?' And I told her, 'Yes,' and we just kept hugging and kissing."

As for any kind of transfer to the Eagles, those developments remain to be seen.
