THE MID-ATLANTIC Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences held its Emmy Awards on Saturday, doling out 85 awards in 76 categories.

Comcast SportsNet led the evening with 11 awards, CBS3 and Fox 29 tied for five, NBC10 took home three, WHYY was awarded two and the Eagles Televison Network walked away with one.

Notables at the event included NBC10's Jillian Mele and Jacqueline London, CSN's Michael Barkann, CBS3's Pat Ciarrocchi and more.

In addition to the traditional awards, this year's ceremony featured the inaugural Silver Circle Society awards, honoring those who have been in the industry for 25 years or more. From Philly, NBC10 photojournalist Pete Kane and CBS3 news operations supervisor Chris Brady were inducted.

* In other awards news, Daily News columnist Solomon Jones will be honored with the 2014 Online Journalist of the Year award by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists.

Polishing the plaques

Stars, they're just like us! Sometimes even they need to do a little fall cleaning. The likes of Chubby Checker, Dee Dee Sharp, Charlie Gracie, Jerry Blavat and Jerry Ross, along with stage-hands of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 8 and other musical volunteers, will polish the plaques on Philadelphia's Walk of Fame on the Avenue of the Arts tomorrow from 8 a.m. to noon. The Philly Pops and other Philadelphia Music Alliance honorees will provide the soundtrack for the sprucing up of the 121 plaques honoring Philly musicians.

P's and Ques

Quintin Cliett, a news editor at KYW 1060 who goes by Que when wearing his hip-hop hat, premiered "Gambling, Guns and Whiskey," a "Boardwalk Empire"-themed song, this weekend. The video was shot at the Lansdowne Theater in May. Que's previous work, "Philly," has more than 11,400 hits on YouTube.

OUT AND ABOUT

* Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, in Philly to cover the Eagles-Redskins game for Fox, got his spin on at Flywheel (1521 Locust St.), the intense bike-based workout.

* Cherry Hill-born actress Ali Larter celebrated her cover of Philadelphia Style magazine on Thursday at the Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel Philadelphia (220 S. 17th St.), hitting the red carpet in a Marchesa top, Calvin Rucker pants and Sophia Webster shoes. Larter, who made a name for herself on "Heroes" and in the "Resident Evil" film series, is starring on TNT's "Legends" alongside "Game of Thrones" star Sean Bean and Morris Chestnut, of "The Best Man Holiday."

* What does a pro football team chow down on before taking on the Eagles? The Redskins opted for takeout from Slice Rittenhouse (1740 Sansom St.), choosing traditional Americano pies in plain, pepperoni and sausage varieties. They'll have to come back in November when Slice owners Marlo and Jason Dilks open up their new South Philly burger joint, fittingly called P'unk Burger (1823 E. Passyunk Ave.) after its neighborhood location.

* The public-relations firm Cashman & Associates celebrated the opening of its new Old City offices recently with a delightful bash. Fox 29/"Good Day Philadelphia" personalities Mike Jerrick, Alex Holley and Jennaphr Frederick, 6ABC's Amy Buckman and many more guests attended. The party was presided over by a quite-pregnant Nicole Cashman, who looked fabulous nonetheless. Next year, the firm will celebrate its 15th anniversary.
