Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are expecting their first child together

Congratulations are in order for Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling! The quiet Hollywood couple just confirmed they are expecting their first child together.

Mendes and Gosling began dating back in 2011 and played parents in the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines, but their romance has flown under the radar since then. Though the couple hasn’t been seen in public together since November (and Mendes was last photographed in March), Mendes is reportedly seven months pregnant.

Earlier this spring, the 40-year-old actress brushed off pregnancy rumors after her refusal to go through an airport security scanner sparked interest.

“It’s so ridiculous,” Mendes told Ellen DeGeneres in February. “It all started because I didn’t want to go through the scanners of the airport, you know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy. They basically see you naked. And not only that, but there is a radiation aspect to it so I always opt out. I always ask for a personal pat down.”

Whatever the reason, Mendes is weeks away from giving birth, and according to a source for OK! Magazine, “she’s been ready for motherhood for a while now. And to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!”

While the current trend in Hollywood may be getting pregnant before getting married, don’t expect the pair to be saying “I do” just yet.

“Ryan doesn’t think they need to marry just because they are having a baby,” the source said, “but Eva believes it’s important to have their lives fully intertwined.”
