Prince Harry twerks at Memphis wedding party
All sorts of unexpected scenarios have arisen from Prince William and Prince Harry‘s trip to Memphis, not least their antics at the wedding party of friends Guy Pelly and Elizabeth Wilson. Reports have Harry ‘twerking’ on the dance floor, and the Duke of Cambridge taking to the stage to entertain guests with his singing.
The singer of the Jimmy Church Band, which played at the party, said, “They were holding people up in the air and passing them around like they were flying. I’ve been doing this 50 years and I ain’t ever seen anything like this. These guys know how to party.
“Harry was dancing and having fun, dancing with lots of people. There were lots of girls around him but I didn’t see that he was with anyone. He was actually a little more conservative than William.”
Newly-single Prince Harry is the most eligible bachelor in town after his split from Cressida Bonas, the news of which broke just before he and William made the trip to Memphis. Will any Tennessee girl win the heart of Harry, or is a reunion with Cressida still on the cards? Time will tell…
In the meantime, local businesses are doing their best to entice Harry onto the premises; strip joint The Pony Club has posted a “Welcome Prince Harry” sign below its pink rooftop logo.
But rather than visit the club, the future king of England and his brother chose instead to tour the estate that belonged to the King—Elvis Presley himself—during their vacation.
The two kept it as cool as Presley ever did, both donning shades as protection against the Tennessee sunlight as they were given a private tour of the star’s former home, Graceland.
Their cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, are also in Tennessee for the wedding. It seems the royals are enjoying the complete Southern experience; the rehearsal dinner was a private barbecue buffet at the acclaimed Memphis restaurant Rendezvous.
The royals have caused a media furor in the area, but there’s no sign of the Duchess of Cambridge making an appearance—no doubt she’s enjoying some downtime after her and William’s three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia. She apparently chose not to attend the wedding to avoid taking the spotlight away from the couple, as her presence would be sure to create even more of a media storm.
