Yesterday

Stephen Colbert will play himself for a change when he takes the "Late Show" reins from retiring David Letterman next year. Insiders speculate the show will stay in New York.

"The Voice" judge Blake Shelton announced he'll play a free beach concert at Caesars A.C. on July 31. Insiders speculate Shelton will not stay long on Absecon Island.

Thursday

Upper Darby's Tina Fey and comedy bud Amy Poehler are set to play sisters in a new comedy by Jason Moore ("Pitch Perfect"), TheWrap.com revealed. Production on "The Nest" is slated to start in New York in June.

Wednesday

Former "Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl filed a $6 million civil lawsuit against the New York pharmacy Duane Reade for using her name and an unauthorized paparazzi photograph of her in its commercial advertising.

Vice president in TVLand, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, posed in the buff, with the Constitution printed on her back. Engaging and all, but the folks at the National Constitution Center saw a mistake and tweeted about it: John Hancock's signature. The Founding Father signed the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution.

Tuesday

A Wall Street broker filed a $25 million defamation suit against the producers of "The Wolf of Wall Street." Paramount Pictures and Red Granite Productions are trying to dismiss the suit by Andrew "Wigwam" Greene, who claims the movie's character Nicky is based on him.

Legendary "Blondie" singer Debbie Harry has revealed she is bisexual.

Monday

Israeli model Bar Refaeli and a Muppet-like creature known as Red Orbach starred in a racy commercial that was promptly banned by Israel's Second Authority for Television and Radio. "Too many sexual insinuations," Haaretz newspaper reported.

Pioneering broadcaster Barbara Walters will make her final television appearance on "The View" on May 16, ABC announced. ABC will also air a two-hour retrospective that night.

Watch out for ...

The FXX network plans to televise all 552 "Simpson" episodes beginning Aug. 21 and into Labor Day. The cavalcade of celebrity voices to listen for includes Aerosmith's Steven Tyler (as himself in Season 3, Episode 10), Johnny Cash (as a coyote Homer hallucinates in Season 8, Episode 9) Dustin Hoffman (as substitute teacher Mr. Bergstrom in Season 2, Episode 19) and Liz Taylor (voicing baby Maggie's first word in Season 4, Episode 10).

The Broadway musical inspired by Tupac Shakur songs will star "Slam" poet and singer Saul Williams, show producers announced. Performances begin May 29 and the show will open June 19 at the Palace Theatre.
