Bill Cosby: 9 hilarious clips of one of comedy’s funniest men
Since I was a kid, I’ve loved Bill Cosby. I remember listening to my mom’s albums of his comedy skits over and over and over. “Noah” is one of my favorites, and I’ve heard it so many times, I could practically recite it verbatim. (And if you have to ask me what an album is, stop reading now. Really. Because I’m going to talk about the ‘80s next. You’re not old enough to keep reading.)
In the 1980s, I watched The Cosby Show every week. I wore the big then-cool-now-ugly sweaters, and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. When I actually got to see Cosby in concert, I was in heaven.
So when I found out that Bill Cosby was back, doing his first comedy special, Bill Cosby: Far from Finished, tomorrow night on Comedy Central (check your local TV/cable listings for air times), you can probably guess how happy I was. Still am. (Read Parade.com’s review of the special here.)
Here are some of my favorite clips of Cosby. Enjoy!
Of course I would include this one first. I told you it was my favorite. It’s the long version too, which was in many parts on the album.
2. The Dentist
Cosby’s bit on the dentist is classic! If you’ve never seen it, you’re in for a treat. If you have, enjoy it all over again. I did.
3. Buck Buck and Fat Albert
You may know that Bill Cosby created and did voices for the great cartoon Fat Albert. That’s not what this is. This is a funny skit about playing the game of “Buck Buck” and what happened when Fat Albert decided to play.
4. Understanding Children
Cosby, a father of five, nails this bit on children. I’m still laughing.
5. Brain Damage
Heh…this clip is Cosby talking about how all children have brain damage and how they destroy their parents.
6. Natural Childbirth
This is a really long clip, but it’s worth watching. Seeing Bill Cosby simulate natural childbirth? Classic!
7. Cake for Breakfast
Fathers can definitely appreciate this one—as can moms!
8. On Drinking
