David Beckham named GQ‘s 'Most Stylish Man of the Year'
We imagine GQ had a difficult time choosing the winner of their “Most Stylish Man of the Year” award. After all, the likes of Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake, and Hugh Jackman have been lighting up red carpets all year with anything-but-drab menswear.
Still, it wasn’t an actor or musician who took home the award last night, but an athlete. David Beckham took the top honor at the 15th annual GQ Men of the Year Awards, presented Thursday in Berlin.
“Like no other athlete, David Beckham represents style and fashion influence,” GQ Germany editor-in-chief José RedondoVega said of the father of four. “With his trendsetting and sometimes daring appearances he has created a bridge between the world of design, models, and photographers, and the world of world-class sports, and brought glamour back to a male sport.”
Beckham, 38, accepted the award in a tailored black suit accessorized with a poppy pinned on his lapel in honor of Remembrance Day (the same kind Prince William and Kate Middleton wore Thursday).
Also in attendance were a few more stylish men: singer Robin Thicke and Twilight actor Kellan Lutz.
