Sideshow: Jolie's school for girls

  Angelina Jolie is bringing grrrl power to Afghanistan. Brad Pitt's partner has opened an all-girls elementary school in a village outside Kabul. She tells E! News she picked the area because of its population of refugees, people often deprived of social services. She says more than 200 girls have enrolled.

Jolie will fund the school through sales of her Style of Jolie jewelry line.

"Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need," Jolie tells E! News.

Basketball legend Magic Johnson tells TMZ that he and his wife Cookie are proud of their son, Earvin, who recently came out as a gay man. Asked how he felt about Earvin's being seen hand-in-hand with his boyfriend on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, Magic said, "Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way." He added, "We're very proud of him."

Who knew a tattoo could hold such life lessons? Just ask Hero heroine Hayden Panettiere, 23, who has a rad verbal tattoo on her back that reads "Vivere senza rimipianti." It's meant to mean "to live without regrets." Kinda: The third word, for "regret," is misspelled. Should be rimpianti.

 "I literally have to live by that advice!" the Nashville star jokes of the mistake. (Or she could just fix it?)

The diminutive 5-foot-2 beauty, whose fiance, boxer Wladimir Klitschko, towers over her by 16 inches, also turns her laser insight on the sad condition of today's young Hollywood. It's the "Messy Generation," she says, "the generation of the disaster child."

Celebs her age have no illusion they're role models. "I never put my name in the ballot box and said, 'Hey, I want you to vote me as your teen leader and icon and your Miss Perfect,' " she says.

On a more personal note, Hayden says, "I was born to be a mother" and admits she may have kids with Wladi.

A fifth man has alleged that embattled Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash had sex with him when the claimant was only 16. . . . An autopsy has confirmed that Shain Gandee of MTV's Buckwild and two passengers in his Ford Bronco died of carbon monoxide poisoning after they had an accident while four-wheeling in West Virginia.

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch alum Melissa Joan Hart, 36, recently told OK! mag she has felt pressure to lose weight since September, when she gave birth to her third son  . "I did a lot of guilt-free eating when I was pregnant," she told the mag. She has found a good way to lose the weight and gain some dollars: Dieting company Nutrisystem on Tuesday announced it had signed Hart as the company's latest spokeswoman. Hart has lost 20 pounds so far.
