‘Top Chef' heading to New York City?

"Top Chef" fan favorite and Somerton native Jennifer Carroll applied for a liquor license on a restaurant space in New York, EaterPhilly.com reported Friday afternoon.

Carroll, who announced a few months back her intention to open a restaurant in Philadelphia called Concrete Blonde, confirmed for Eater Philly that she had applied for a license at 33 Greenwich St. in the West Village, but did not say whether that was for Concrete Blonde or another project.

Recently, Carroll, who did not return a request for comment Friday, was followed by Bravo cameras for a show called "Life After Top Chef," following her and three other alums of the popular reality show as they try to open their own restaurants in their respective cities.

Out and about

Singer Mary J. Blige hung out with a large group at Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly Burlesque club at Revel in Atlantic City Saturday night. The DJ played a few of her songs and Kane gave her the microphone a few times — she thanked the crowd and gave a few shout-outs and birthday wishes to friends.

Blige performed this weekend at Caesars Atlantic City and also partied in a VIP area at Caesars Toga Bar, where she sipped Ciroc Coconut, Grey Goose and Patron Silver with friends.

"Bones" star David Boreanaz played Saturday afternoon in a charity hockey tournament at Skate Zone in Pennsauken. The event was a benefit for the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, to which we hear Boreanaz, a Malvern Prep graduate, donated $1,000. Four local media types served as captains for the teams, CSNPhilly.com Flyers writer Sarah Baicker, Dave Isaac of the Courier Post, Dustin Leed from Lancaster and hockey blogger Eklund. Boreanaz played on Isaac's team for a game but had to leave early.

While he was there, however, there was no shortage of young girls asking the actor to pose for pictures.

The former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" actor wore Flyers gear he got when he practiced with the team last season in California. He's also a friend of former Flyer Mike Richards, whom he just watched help win the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings.

A.C. activity

Atlantic City's new Revel will preview its upcoming four-level nightclub HQ beginning this weekend. DJ Tony Arzadon will spin the club's main room on Saturday and DJs such as A-Trak, Calvin Harris, Chromeo and Roger Sanchez will perform throughout the summer, leading up to the grand opening of all four levels in September. HQ is designed by New York nightlife players EMM Group and Angel Management Group, which has 15 properties in Las Vegas.
