Tattle: National Enquirer reporting that John Edwards is, in fact, the baby's daddy

THE National Enquirer is reporting that John Edwards - remember him? - has taken a DNA test so secret that only the National Enquirer knows about it and it proves he's the father of Michael Jackson's children.

No, that's not right.

He's the father of Rielle Hunter's 18-month-old daughter.

The Enquirer says that multiple sources confirm the story, and Edwards' lawyers are allegedly working on a child-support agreement.

Sources say that Edwards has told wife, Elizabeth, and, seriously, if she conked him with a frying pan, would anyone care?

Michael Jackson updates

As united as the Jackson siblings appeared to be in their grief over Michael's death, that's how divided they appear to be as they try to come up with a tour to both honor him and capitalize on his passing.

Longtime MJ-watcher Diane Diamond writes on thedailybeast.com that the latest nastiness stems from a possible 10-city U.S. "Jackson Family Reunion Tour."

Thedailybeast.com says that New Jersey-based AllGood Entertainment has put a $12 million offer on the Jacksons' table, with a $1 million advance if they agree to it.

The problem is that the promoters are seeing Janet as the top Jackson in this "Jackson 8," with an offer giving her $4 million of the $12 million-plus. After that, the five surviving brothers would each get $1.5 million, La Toya checks in at $500,000 and Rebbie is down for $250,000.

Those numbers could double or triple if the tour expanded beyond America.

The Daily Beast, however, says that Rebbie, who doesn't perform, wants to be seen as more than a babysitter for Michael's children, and Janet isn't keen on headlining - being the family's cash cow became a burden that may have ultimately ruined her brother.

* Motown founder Berry

Gordy will write the introduction to a reissue of Michael's memoir, "Moonwalk."

A statement released by publisher Harmony Books says that Gordy will offer memories of Jackson as a child star and of the Jackson 5.

* The glittery glove that Michael

wore when he unveiled his moonwalk on Motown's 25th-anniversary TV special in 1983 is hitting the auction block.

This one isn't like his other glittery gloves, which were made for the right hand and adorned with hand-sewn crystals. This left-handed glove is a modified, store-bought glove covered with rhinestones.

The glove, which Darren Julien, of Julien's Auctions, called "the Holy Grail of MJ memorabilia," will be featured alongside other one-of-a-kind items - such as an early Madonna demo tape and unreleased Jimi Hendrix lyrics - at the Nov. 21 "Music Icons" auction at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC's Times Square.

Walter "Clyde" Orange, a founding member of the Commodores, has been holding onto the glove since Michael gave it to him in 1983.

Orange said that he hopes that the glove will find a permanent home at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or a similar institution. And he's happy that proceeds from the sale will benefit MusiCares, an organization that helps musicians struggling with substance abuse.

"Just for the world to see it, that means the world to me," Orange said.

Tattbits

* Brad Pitt told NBC's "Today"

yesterday that he has seen the "Brad Pitt for Mayor" T-shirts in New Orleans, but he's not running.

He can't.

He and Angelina Jolie bought a home in 2007. To be eligible, mayoral candidates must be New Orleans residents for at least five years before the date of the election.

* Rob Lowe told "Extra" the

other night that his favorite role was Sam Seaborn on "The West Wing" and he wants creator Aaron Sorkin to do a movie version of the show.

"Let me tell you," Lowe said, "the minute that 'Sex and the City: The Movie' opened to those kind of numbers, I know Aaron got 75 calls, and 74 were from me."
