As Halloween nears, it's time for Forbes' annual list of the top earning dead celebrities. Leading the way again is Michael Jackson, who raked in $170 million since last October. At No. 2 is Elvis Presley, at $55 million, still earning hedge fund manager type dough more than three decades after his passing.

Elizabeth Taylor ($12 million) debuts on the list at No. 5, because her scent is still strong. Most of that money came from the royalties on the sale of White Diamonds perfume. She's tied with John Lennon. Imagine that.

Not that it matters, but the most surprising entrant on the list is again Albert Einstein ($10 million). Is that due to Baby Einstein? Einstein Bagels? Or are that many people wearing officially licensed Einstein T-shirts?

Right behind Einstein is Dr. Seuss ($9 million). That original one-percenter, The Grinch, continues to pay big dividends.

Kinda puts their silly protest in focus doesn't it? Or is it just a selective 1% that feels their wrath?
