Loki, by Kenneth Pobo
Loki
A trickster, I dwell in surprise –
what do I care if you like me?
Half of me is truth. Half is lies.
Look closely and don't criticize.
Changing shape is my destiny.
A trickster, I dwell in surprise,
so don't trust what's before your eyes.
I appear, disappear quickly.
Half of me is truth. Half is lies.
You want to be what you despise,
yet you know you can't be this free.
A trickster, I dwell in surprise,
am most happy when in disguise.
Be a fish, a mare, he or she.
Half of me is truth. Half is lies –
like the darkness that dawn denies,
none can stopper my energy –
A trickster, I dwell in surprise.
Half of me is truth. Half is lies.
