Woman fired over Facebook photo, "Arlington Cemetery incident"

Lindsey Stone is a 30-year-old Massachusetts native who previously worked for Living Independently Forever (LIFE), a nonprofit organization that helps adults with learning disabilities. She gained some unexpected Internet fame when a photo she posed for went viral. In the photo, she's giving the finger and prentending to yell next to a sign that reads "Silence and respect" at Arlington National Cemetery. People were less than thrilled with Stone's joke. So a Facebook group popped up that demanded LIFE fire her. More than 30,000 people joined the group and Stone has since been fired. The employee that took the photo was also let go. [Gawker]
