WATCH: Jon Stewart's 'Rosewater' gets first trailer (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - With the film set to hit the festival circuit in the next month, Open Road has released the first trailer for Jon Stewart's directorial debut, "Rosewater."

The pic stars Gael Garcia Bernal and tells the true story of a journalist who was detained in Iran for more than 100 days and brutally interrogated in prison.

Scott Rudin is producing.

The film will premiere at the Telluride Film Festival.
