Rick Springfield to release 'spiritual' novel
Rick Springfield, a heartthrob made famous by his 80s song 'Jessie's Girl', is set to release his first novel next year entitled 'Magnificent Vibration' that apparently involves a man receiving a 1-800 phone call connection to God.
Apparently, there wasn't a good Internet connection available.
Touchstone describes the book by as, "a potent tour de force that is by turns hilarious, poignant, spiritual, over-the-top, and deeply meaningful."
The book revolves around a man at a dead-end in life who receives the phone connection to God after finding a mysterious inscription in a self-help book. The novel takes a spiritual twist as the hero gets a shot at saving the planet.
"The only good grades I ever got in school before I was kicked out were for creative writing," Springfield said in the press release. "I thought that fiction might be in my future but then my career took a different path once the Beatles showed me what a blast being in a band could be."
Springfield has already written his memoir entitled Late, Late at Night, which was a New York Times best seller.
He said his new book "practically wrote itself."
Springfield actually got his start on General Hospital, portraying Dr. Noah Drake.
Touchstone is a division of Simon & Schuster, which is part of the CBS Corporation.
