In 2009, Simon Cowell expressed his thoughts on fatherhood: "God, no. I couldn't have children," he said. "If I had them here drawing on the walls I'd go nuts."

Life doesn't always go as planned, even for the Simon Cowells of the world, as revealed in a shattering, new Us Weekly report that says the X Factor judge has impregnated the estranged wife of his close friend. For the 53-year-old media mogul who's crushed the dreams of so many kids on Idol and X Factor, it may be time to face the music.

People confirmed Wednesday that New York socialite Lauren Silverman, the wife of real estate mogul Andrew Silverman, is expecting a child with Cowell. An assistant to Cowell's rep told People Wednesday morning, "This is a very sensitive issue and all media enquiries are being dealt with by his U.S. attorney." Silverman is allegedly "around 10 weeks along."

"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," a source told Us of the Silvermans, who have filed for divorce, according to multiple reports.

Silverman and Cowell have been spotted together on several occasions- while on vacation in St. Barts and on their way to see a play together earlier this year. The NY Daily News has images of Cowell on a yacht with the Silvermans in 2012.

On Cowell's potential merits of being a good father, the acerbic personality disclosed in a 2012 interview with AOL Music that he was more open to the idea of having kids. "I do really, really like kids, because I can talk to them and listen to them," he shared. "The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids and I've always dedicated all my life to work, and at 52, I've probably missed the opportunity."

Not anymore.
