Marlton's Christina Grimmie comes in third on 'The Voice'

"The Voice" announced the winner of its sixth season alast night and, alas, it was not meant to be for Marlton's Christina Grimmie. The honors went to the soulful Josh Kaufman, who also beat out country crooner Jake Worthington for the title.

But Grimmie, 20, has a bright future ahead of her, and not just because judge Adam Levine offered to sign her to his record label, 222 Records.

Grimmie immediately made a splash on the well-rated singing competition during her audition when she caused all four judges — Maroon 5's Levine, Usher, Shakira and Blake Shelton — to turn their chairs and vie for Grimmie to be on their team after hearing her rendition of Miley Cyrus' epic "Wrecking Ball." Grimmie eventually chose Levine. She became a frontrunner with performances ranging from Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love."

Grimmie, who attended Cherokee High School until her sophomore year, was known before "The Voice" for her YouTube covers, amassing quite the social media following. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2012 after Grimmie was chosen to open for popstress Selena Gomez.

Kaufman takes home a recording contract as his grand prize.
