Marc Summers, host of "Double Dare" and Food Network fare like "Unwrapped," told TMZ he hurt himself in a recent Philly cab accident. 60-year-old Summers says he doesn't remember much but he was riding in taxi when it hydroplaned. He "flew out of his seat and into the clear partition inside the taxi cab face first ... breaking several bones in the process," according to TMZ. Summers was rushed to a local hospital and given emergency plastic surgery. He hasn't looked in the mirror yet but is told he looks fine.

Summers splits his time between here L.A. and Philly, where his company, Marc Summers Productions, is located.

Summers told the Daily News' Dan Gross that the accident occurred last Friday while he was in a cab home from Philadelphia International Airport. "I asked them to take me to HUP. They're the best," Summers wrote via text message, referring to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Summers added that he was feeling much better since the accident.

A word of advice: get some facts before you publish an article. Where and when did the accident happen? Never mind. I see that this "article" was lifted from TMZ. Great work Philly.com. You have to quote a dubious source in L.A. to find out what is happening in Philadelphia.

Dwight -- is this a story they should have dedicated 10 reporters for coverage? Yeesh, your unbending criticism of the press, which you probably think shouldn't be critical, is truly inspiring.
