Kevin Hart arrested for DUI

Kevin Hart is arrested for almost colliding with a gas tanker while allegedly driving under the influence.

Philly's own comedic superstar Kevin Hart was arrested in the wee hours of this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to TMZ.

The California Highway Patrol stopped Hart's black Mercedes at 4:30 a.m. after they saw him driving erratically and "almost collid[ing] with a gas tanker truck" on the 101 Freeway.

Hart was booked for misdemeanor DUI and is being held on $5,000 bond.

Hart has been on a hot streak as of late. Last month, Hart hosted "Saturday Night Live" for the first time, he wrapped up the first season of his faux BET reality show, "The Real Husbands of Hollywood," and even nabbed Chris Rock for season 2. His next stand-up movie, "Let Me Explain," hits theater July 3. Watch the trailer below.

UPDATE: Hart is now out of jail, tweeting about the incident. "I'm officially a thug, I spent 6hrs in jail last night...I got pulled over 3blocks from my house by a d--- head cop," Hart wrote.

He admitted that driving while under the influence was a serious offense:

In an interview with TMZ, Hart admits he was drunk, but calls the resisting arrest charge bogus. He wanted to take his watch off before he was cuffed, but the arresting officer claimed Hart was resisting. "This is where I get my material from," Hart says in the video interview.
