'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' coming to Broadway

Broadway.com reports that the West End smash Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin performances in Manhattan in spring 2018.

The two-part play caused a bidding war among Broadway theater owners and the show will open at the Lyric Theatre after the 1900-seat Broadway house loses 400 seats and undergoes a massive renovation.

"I'm delighted we are one step closer in bringing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to Broadway and very excited by the proposed plans," said J.K. Rowling in a statement.
