At a press conference held on Monday, the Toronto Raptors basketball team announced that they would be starting up a new partnership with one of the city's most well known exports: Drizzy Drake.
Drake is showing mad love to his city by accepting his new position for the basketball squad – a task that requires him to be a rebranding consultant as the team enters a new season. This means he's got a huge say in the team's new logo, colors, merchandise and is responsible for being a spokesperson/high-supporter at all times.
With Toronto being a not-so-hot destination for basketball lovers, Pitchfork points out that the Raptors could be pulling a very similar PR move to what Jay Z did for the Nets.
