Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom has something new this season – metal detectors.
The Lehigh County park just outside Allentown had the walk-through detectors in place for the season opener on Saturday, the Morning Call reported.
"It's one element of our screening process," Caitlin Stibitz, Dorney Park spokeswoman, told the paper
The added security measure is part of a program launched by Dorney's parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment, at its 11 amusements parks and is expected to result in "slight delays," according to the park's website.
