Between 1964 and 1966 at The Factory in New York, Andy Warhol shot hundreds of soundless Screen Tests of famous and not-so-famous people, with Edie Sedgwick, Lou Reed and Dennis Hopper in the former category. Tonight in a Philly Fringe show at the Arts Bank on South Broad, Dean Wareham (formerly of Galaxie 500, and Luna) and his partner Britta Phillips will do their show 13 Most Beautiful ... Songs For Andy Warhol's Screen Tests, in which the understated duo and their band will play new and old original songs, plus covers like Bob Dylan's "I'll Keep It With Mine," while Warhol's films are projected behind them. There are shows at 7 and 9. Should be cool. Here's the trailer for the DVD of the same name.
