Playing In The Street

Chestnut Street used to be called Piano Row. Today, there’s only Jacobs Music Company, area rep for Steinway & Sons. They're a sponsor of "Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow," a competition involving 250 young people aged 5 to 25, presented by the Nelly Berman School of Music in Haverford. One of the winners, Jacob Adler, plays a Steinway on the sidewalk outside the Jacobs storefront, to promote a concert by all the winners Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m. at the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater. Great job, Jonathan, and that goes for all the participants! So cool to see young people involved in activities that enrich their lives and the lives of others. Kudos to Jacobs and Nelly Berman for their commitment to the arts! Keep it up!
