Playing In The Street
Chestnut Street used to be called Piano Row. Today, there’s only Jacobs Music Company, area rep for Steinway & Sons. They're a sponsor of "Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow," a competition involving 250 young people aged 5 to 25, presented by the Nelly Berman School of Music in Haverford. One of the winners, Jacob Adler, plays a Steinway on the sidewalk outside the Jacobs storefront, to promote a concert by all the winners Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m. at the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater.
