Splurging for a cause
Think of Sunday's shopping event at Lilly Pulitzer's Ardmore store as giving times two. Not only will you be by yourself (OK, fine, maybe with a loved one) looking for a signature Lilly Pulitzer getup or accessory, but you'll also be giving to Simon's Fund.
On Sunday, 10 percent of all proceeds from the Lilly Pulitzer store will go to the Philadelphia charity that honors the memory of Simon Sudman, who died of Long QT syndrome, an arrhythmia, when he was just a baby. His parents set up Simon's Fund to provide information and free heart screenings to prevent sudden cardiac arrest deaths in babies and young athletes. (If you don't feel like shopping, but want to donate to Simon's Fund, you can find ways to give directly on its website at www.simonsfund.org.)
So go ahead. Splurge on a dress, a colorful iPhone cover ($34), or the supercute pineapple clutch ($98). Do it for a good cause.
