Australian war correspondent Michael Ware looks at the Iraq conflict and its consequences, with footage he shot during a seven-year sojourn that began with a three-week assignment in 2003.

The Saudi Arabia that its government doesn't want the world to see is brought to light in videos shot by activists who risked their freedom - and possibly their lives - to try to bring change to the kingdom's repressive policies.

_ EMPIRE. 9 p.m. Wednesday, Fox29.

Hakeem (Philly's Bryshere Y. Gray) makes a big play for power, but not before a few memorable encounters with his mother, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), as the musical soap returns, as sudsy as ever, after a nearly four-month absence.

_ THE PATH. Wednesday, Hulu.

The streaming channel's newest original - and one of the most intriguing shows of the spring - stars Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Michelle Monaghan (True Detective), and Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) as members of a cultlike religious group that's at a turning point.

_ RUSH HOUR. 10 p.m. Thursday, CBS3.

Jon Foo and Justin Hires star in what CBS calls a "reimagining" of the buddy-cop film franchise about a Hong Kong detective and a maverick L.A. cop.

_ THE RANCH. Friday, Netflix.

That '70s Show stars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson reunite in a new comedy in which they play brothers on a Colorado ranch from which Kutcher's character, a semipro football player, had been away for years. Debra Winger and Sam Elliott play their parents. Why Netflix? Because although there's a studio audience, there's also stronger-than-network language.
