Adding to its roster, CBS3 has hired another general assignment reporter who starts next week. And she's a local gal.

Rahel Solomon, originally from West Philly and Drexel Hill, will join the Eyewitness News team next Tuesday.

Solomon comes to us directly from KCNC-TV, the CBS-owned station in Denver, where she's been reporting and part-time anchoring during the past two years.

Solomon is credited with her coverage of the trial of 2012 Aurora theater shooter James Eagan Holmes and the massive flooding in Colorado in 2014.

She was recently named the Colorado Association of Black Journalists' 2015 Broadcast Journalist of the Year.

Prior to her stint in Denver, Solomon worked as a multimedia journalist for WSAZ-TV in Charleston, W.Va. But before that, she started off right here with WCAU-TV as a production assistant.

"Since my days on the high school newspaper and the broadcast station, it has been my dream to report in Philadelphia," Solomon said.

"I'm beyond thrilled to return home and excited to be here in time for CBS3's coverage of the papal visit."

Lotta heart for Hart

We know that Sunday night was big for Kevin Hart at the Linc. He was the first comedian ever to sell out a NFL stadium. And he was not without some big-named company, as well.

Philly's own Simon "One Punch" Carr, former boxer-turned celebrity fashion designer, is a personal friend of Hart. He said they hung with a squad of Hart's fans Sunday night, including welterweight boxing champ Danny Garcia, Brooklyn-born "Can't Deny It" rapper Fabolous, "White Men Can't Jump" actor Duane Martin, several 76ers players and local comedian Will "Spank" Horton, who opened for Hart.

After the show, I hear some of the gang went to Rumor nightclub (1500 Sansom St.) then to Recess Lounge (125 S. 2nd St.) in Old City for a few more cocktails.

But Hart's show wasn't Carr's only bash Sunday.

It also was a celebration night for Mo'ne Davis, who turned 14. Earlier in the day, Carr says he stopped by Davis' surprise birthday party with NBA legend Magic Johnson, 105.3 WDAS FM radio host Patty Jackson and Fox 29's Alex Holley, among others.

Equines for ale

I swear - I could hear them tromping around the cobblestones from my home in South Philly.

The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are in town this week for an array of appearances in conjunction with the Budweiser Made in America Music Festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway this weekend.

The gentle giants pulled an eight-horse hitch that was harnessed to the famous red Bud beer wagon on Saturday. It traveled from Shurs Lane west along Main Street to Green Lane. Tomorrow, they'll be at Bar (1309 Sansom St.), the original "Home of the Pickleback" shot.
