Two by Floyd Mutrux

His name may not be familiar, but Floyd Mutrux has been a pop-culture constant for nearly 50 years, as a TV actor in the 1960s, filmmaker from the 1970s to the 1990s, and Broadway producer in the 2000s. A double feature of his films encapsulating the sense and sensibility of the '70s, Dusty & Sweets McGee, a 1971 docudrama about young heroin addicts, and the 1975 hit Aloha, Bobby & Rose, about a hapless working-class couple on the lam in a 1968 Camaro, screens at International House, 3701 Chestnut St. Time: 7 p.m.

Tickets: $9; $7 students. Information: 215-387-5125 or http://ihousephilly.org.

Round and round

Who needs casinos when you've got the Atlantic Ocean - and Indoor Auto Racing? The two-day event in Atlantic City is expected to draw more than 200 competitors, including Erick Rudolph, Billy Pouch, Mike Dicely, and Timex Morgan. They'll zoom around the 1/8-mile paved oval track in souped-up TQs and microsprints capable of doing flips and continuing on. The culmination is the 13th running of the Gambler's Classic to determine the season's champion. (And after the noise and excitement of the races, take a walk on the Boardwalk for the quiet and calm of the winter shore.) It's all at Boardwalk Hall, 2301 Boardwalk, in Atlantic City. Times: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets: $5 to $32. Information: 800-736-1420 or http://www.boardwalkhall.com.
