Some U.S. theaters to show 'The Interview'

Sony didn’t say exactly how many theaters would screen the controversial comedy.

YES, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus.

That's what the makers of "The Interview" have to be thinking, now that Sony has announced a limited theatrical release of the controversial comedy.

After hackers made terror threats, Sony pulled the film. Critics including President Obama cried foul, citing First Amendment issues.

Yesterday, moviegoers got word that Sony had done an about-face and had agreed to allow the movie to be shown starting on Christmas Day after all. The movie giant did not immediately say how many theaters would show the film, but it's expected that "The Interview" will open in fewer than the wide release originally planned. Obama welcomed the development.

"The president applauds Sony's decision to authorize screenings of the film. As the president made clear, we are a country that believes in free speech, and the right of artistic expression," White House spokesman Eric Schultz said in a statement. "The decision made by Sony and participating theaters allows people to make their own choices about the film, and we welcome that outcome."

Kardashian Kristmas

Proving once again that there's little that a Kardashian won't do to get noticed, Kris Jenner, 59, co-stars in a new video with daughter Kendall Jenner, 19. Both are skimpily attired as they dance in black, seamed stockings and high heels before knocking over a pink Christmas tree. Temporary Tattle is not sure what to make of the video released yesterday by Love magazine.

Love and marriage

South Jersey homegirl Kelly Ripa knows how to keep a marriage spicy: Have sex.

"I fundamentally believe that the more you do it, the more you do it, the less you do it, the less you do it," the co-host of "Live! with Kelly and Michael" said recently on "Watch What Happens Live."

Ripa has been married to hunky hubby Mark Consuelos since 1996.

In other couples news, Clint Eastwood is about to make somebody's day with the news that he's once again a single man. According to TMZ, he and his wife of 18 years, Dina, officially divorced on Monday.

Speaking of splits, Tim Burton, 56, and Helena Bonham Carter, 48, also are no longer a couple, according to People magazine. The pair - who never legally married - met when Burton directed Carter in the 2001 flick "Planet of the Apes."

Jenny from the Block

A Life & Style source says Jennifer Lopez has a little extra pocket money to spend this holiday season. The sexy Latina, also known as J.Lo, reportedly was paid $1.75 million for a private performance at the Grand Hyatt Macau that lasted less than an hour. According to the source, she performed for a family of casino magnates for just 40 minutes.

They also reportedly put her up in style in Macau, a former Portuguese colony near Hong Kong. Girlfriend was able to do her thing and before long was back home with her kids. Nice work if you can get it.

New year, new album
