Who is the right one?

Kate Upton. Penélope Cruz. Eva Longoria. Who's the sexiest of them all? There's a pop-cult cacophony, with mags naming different women as the year's best in, um, being a woman.

People mag crowned Sports Illustrated bombshell Upton, 22, at its inaugural awards show in Beverly Hills.

Maxim went with the more mature and bookish Longoria, 39, who tells the mag about earning a master's degree in Chicano studies. "Back in high school I really was the chameleon. . . . I got along with the honors math club, then I would go to cheerleading practice," she tells Maxim.

Esquire honors Cruz. "She speaks four languages and dreams in many more," the mag says of the 40-year-old stunner.

Reese: all washed up?

In 2012, the New Yorker deemed Reese Witherspoon a has-been. Harsh! She sure thought so. The Oscar-winning Walk the Line star tells Charlie Rose that she was shocked to read her career obit. "I thought I was reading, like, a profile on another actor. Then somewhere down at the end, it said . . . 'The people who are washed up,' " Reese tells Rose in a chat set to air Sunday on CBS' 60 Minutes. "I mean, it really hurt my feelings."

Reese admits she went through a rough patch after her 2007 divorce from Ryan Phillippe, and pretty much disappeared from the screen for more than two years . And she's had small roles over the last four years.

"I was just kind of floundering. . . . I wasn't making things I was passionate about," she tells Rose. "And it was really clear that audiences weren't responding."

But, Reese says, she's back.

She is earning accolades for her starring role in the Nick Hornby adaptation Wild. And she's soared as a producer with Gone Girl, which has made $300 mil since its Oct. 3 release.
