Lady Gaga rape controversy

Having revealed to Howard Stern in an interview Tuesday that she was raped by a record producer at age 19, Lady Gaga, 28, found herself involved Wednesday in a flap over her assailant's identity. Celeb website TMZ.com reported that Mark Geragos, lawyer for rapper/singer Kesha (Kesha Rose Sebert) in her sexual- assault lawsuit against record producer Dr. Luke (born Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald), tweeted "Guess who the rapist was?" When someone guessed Luke, Geragos replied: "#bingo." This did not sit well with Gaga, whose rep told TMZ, "It's absolutely not true." Luke didn't care for it, either. "Mark Geragos' statement is completely false and defamatory," Luke's rep said. Geragos is standing by his statement and says he'll depose Gaga as part of Kesha's lawsuit, according to TMZ. Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) said she had never talked about the assault before because "I don't want to be defined by it."

Cosby thanks supporters

Embattled comic Bill Cosby, 77, who's maintained silence as sexual-assault accusations against him have multiplied, tweeted out messages of gratitude to two of the few people who have expressed support for him, Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott, reports People.com. "Thank you @MissJillScott, from the Cosby Family," said one of the tweets. "Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg," said the other.

ScarJo says 'I do'

Scarlett Johansson and longtime partner Romain Dauriac exchanged marriage vows far, far from prying eyes (meaning paparazzi) amid the scenic glories of western Montana all the way back on Oct. 1, the Associated Press reports. Carol Bohrnsen, clerk of court for Granite County, said the couple had wed in the scenic hamlet of Philipsburg. "It's a beautiful little spot," Bohrnsen said. Johansson and Dauriac, a French ex-journalist, became engaged in September 2013. The couple had a daughter, Rose, a year later.

"They were nice people," Bohrnsen said of the couple, who came to the county courthouse for their wedding license. "I thought Scarlett was very personable. A very sweet personality."

Nichols' estate

Director Mike Nichols, who died of cardiac arrest at age 83 on Nov. 19, has left an estate estimated at $20 million to be divvied up among wife Diane Sawyer and his three children, the New York Post reports. But his will, filed in Manhattan Surrogate's Court yesterday, provides little detail about how the inheritance will be parceled out. The gifts that are mentioned specifically include a painting by English artist J.F. Herring to son Max Nichols and all his tangible property including furnishings, automobiles, and clothing to Sawyer, his executor. The rest goes into a private trust. Nichols' lawyer asked to seal the trust documents. Nichols' other heirs include daughters Daisy and Jenny.

Kelly's coup

Fox News Channel's The Kelly File, with Megyn Kelly behind the anchor desk, clocked in as the top-rated cable news show among viewers in the all-important (to advertisers, anyway) 25-54 age range, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Kelly File, which launched a little over a year ago, bumped FNC stablemate Bill O'Reilly and The O'Reilly Factor out of the top slot, reported THR. But O'Reilly still drew more viewers overall - 3 million vs. Kelly's 2.7 mil.
