Sideshow: AC/DC drummer charged with hiring hit men to kill two

Talk about a highway to hell. Phil Rudd, drummer for Aussie rockers and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers AC/DC, was charged Thursday in a court in New Zealand (he lives there) with hiring hit men to kill two people. No word on whom he was trying to murder. Rudd's has been with AC/DC since 1974, with a break from 1983 to 1994.

'Alex From Target' gets 15 crazy minutes

It might be nice to be 16-year-old Alex LaBeouf (no relation, we don't think, to actor Shia LaBeouf, but just as fun to spell), also known as "Alex From Target." He's very cute. He's got a job as a checkout guy cashier at a Target in Texas. And girls like him! How do we know? Some young woman snapped a candid pic of Alex at work, then reposted it. An L.A. marketing start-up called Breakr took it, and began a hashtag campaign called #alexfromtarget to test the power of "the fan girl demographic." Well, those girls are way powerful: Alex-themed hashtags, tweets, and follows have exceeded a million since it all started over the weekend. Without Alex doing anything! (Target, by the way, apparently had no role in this, and Alex still works there.) He's even been on Ellen DeGeneres' show. It's called Web celebrity and a gobsmacked Alex has it, for now. "So many followers," he tweeted.

Selena Gomez's tear-stained single

Sweet-visaged Selena Gomez went on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated celeb radio talk show on L.A. radio place KIIS-FM to talk about her new single and video, "The Heart Wants What It Wants." The vid opens with Gomez talking about a tough relationship, often in tears. She confirmed to Seacrest that it's all about her on-again-off-and-then-on-again liaison with Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

Britney Spears says she and Charlie Ebersol are a thing. . . . E! Online says Channing Tatum's father learned about C-Tate once being a real-life stripper by watching him on DeGeneres' show. . . . Congrats to Miranda Lambert, who set records after winning four more Country Music Awards on Wednesday night. She's won the most of any female artist (11) and has won best lady singer five years in a row.
