One smart singer

Our theme today is "The Savvy Celebrity Businesslady." Start with Wyomissing's own Taylor Swift, who knows how to work that social media!

She's invented a new thing: taylurking. "Lurking" is Net talk for stalking folks online without them knowing. But people want T-Swift to stalk them! See, her new album 1989 was released Monday, and folks are buying it and taking selfies with it. Tay-Tay, brill grrrl, trolls the Web for said selfies and reposts 'em on her own Twitter account. Fans are orgasmically excited! And Tay-Tay sells a unit and gets an ad! Fiendish, sweet, effective. Next week, we'll see if 1989 sells 1 million in its first week, as is foretold.

Women behaving richly

David and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham have long been famed for pulling money out of the air. Now former Spice Girl Victoria straddles the entrepreneurial world! U.K. mag Management Today has named her numero uno of the Top 100 entrepreneurs of 2014. In 2008 she, with her old Spice Girls manager, biz genius Simon Fuller, launched her fashion biz Victoria Beckham. Since then profits have bulged 3,000 percent. "First time around I felt famous," says Victoria, "but now I feel successful." Well, you should!

And a mondo shout-out to fresh, beautiful, high-principled Jessica Alba. The singer/actress got a bad rash from a baby detergent in 2007 and started looking into safe, eco-friendly products. Her joint the Honest Company was born in 2012, and now she's said to be readying it for an IPO! Guess what it's worth. Shut up, you didn't know: $1 billion.

Bynes parents take steps

Amanda Bynes has been buying big piles of jewelry and then just givin' it to other people. Why not us??? Alarmed, her parents went to court and got a conservatorship, so they can keep an eye on her net worth, which, they told the court, busts $5.7 million. Meantime, she remains in a psychiatric facility in Pasadena: Doctors just secured a court order allowing them to hold her for 30 more days.

Small things escalate . . .

Marriage equality means divorce equality, yo! Ask Jane Lynch, who married Lara Embry in May 2010, finalized her split from her this January, and inked the property settlement, as in yow! ouch!, on Monday. Embry gets $1.2 million in lump-sum payments, plus hundreds of thousands more in bank and trust-fund bucks. Plus the dog.   . . . Now we have even more reasons to wuvv Sandra Bullock! Sunday, on a New Orleans set for the movie Our Brand Is Crisis, now in production, an extra collapsed from heat stroke. Our Sandra gave her water and shade until the medics arrived. Costar Billy Bob Thornton reportedly stood around. Good work, Billy Bob. . . . As you know, TLC suddenly canceled Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo last week, saying Mama June was dating convicted child molester (and old flame) Mark McDaniel. What of Alana "Honey Boo Boo"? Her father, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, says he won't seek custody unless things get worse.   Sure feels like the show's coming back with a roar, much as A&E's Duck Dynasty did after salacious, sensational headlines.
