Here are your Made in America festival essentials

The where, when and how of this year’s Made In America festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

Festival Essentials

Where 'n' when: Third annual Budweiser Made in America music festival, Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Main entrance is 22nd Street and the Parkway. Additional side entrances/exits at 23rd and Pennsylvania Avenue and (VIP only) 24th Street and Martin Luther King Drive at Eakins Oval.

Gates open at noon tomorrow and Sunday. Performances begin at 2 p.m. and conclude at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow, resume at 2 p.m. and conclude at 11 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets: Still available at $89.50 for a single-day pass, two-day pass is $150 (plus fees). No discounts (or freebies) for children. Purchase tickets and "will call" pickups at box office trailer on site (22nd Street north of entrance) or online at ticketmaster.com.

Talent lineup: Tomorrow - Kanye West, the National, Steve Aoki, Chromeo, City and Colour, R3HAB, Baauer, Mayer Hawthorne, the Neighbourhood, Holy Ghost!, Glassjaw, Will Sparks, Destructo, Big Daddy Kane, DJ Cassidy, Cherub, Young & Sick, Kaneholler, Bas, Baby Baby, Pissed Jeans, OCD: Moosh & Twist and The Ooohh Baby Gimme Mores.

Sunday - Kings of Leon, Tiesto, Pharrell Williams, Girl Talk, Spoon, Grimes, AWOLNATION, Gareth Emery, Tommy Trash, KONGOS, Danny Brown, YG, Bear Hands, Penguin Prison, 3LAU, Mimosa, Bleachers, Vacationer, Cut Snake, Bixel Boys, Misterwives, Cruiser, Nothing, the Menzingers and Man Overboard.

Getting there: SEPTA will offer added and all-night service on the Broad Street and Market-Frankford subway lines throughout the two-day festival. Late-night service will also be extended on selected SEPTA Regional Rail lines. Race-Vine, 15th Street, Suburban Station and 30th Street stations are closest for walking in. NJ Transit is maintaining normal weekend schedules. Visit septa.org or call 215-580-7800 or njtransit.org or call 973-275-5555.

Car parking: Roads around the festival will be blocked off starting this morning. Think Schuylkill Expressway (rather than the drives) to get into/out of town and garages/lots south of JFK Boulevard, north of Fairmount Avenue and east of Broad Street for easiest parking.

Things you can bring: Blankets and towels, small umbrellas, factory-sealed plastic water bottles (1 per person up to 1 liter), empty plastic water-containers (up to 64 ounces) or Camelbacks, nonprofessional cameras and camera phones, one non-framed backpack or bag (subject to search). Recommended: Sunscreen, sunglasses, government-issued I.D. for beer service, cash and debit/credit cards.

Things you can't bring: Lawn chairs, skateboards, food and (non-water) drinks, illegal substances, weapons of any kind, pets (except trained service animals), glowsticks, laser pointers, coolers, professional-grade cameras and recorders.

Viewing tips: With giant, high brightness video screens and lots of sound "reinforcement" flanking and amplifying the stage action, there's really no need to dive into the densest heat of the crowd - unless you wanna. (The collective "bounce" of an EDM-groovin' crowd is energizing, though not for the claustrophobic. )

Stepping back a block (or so) also makes it easiest to pivot and move a few steps between the two major stages (Rocky and Liberty) that alternate with music at the West end of the site, or to visit the east-end Freedom Stage and center corridor Skateboard Stage where you'll find local bands as well as high-jumping, skate-boardin' entertainers.

Other distractions: Getting burned by the beats (or the sun)? Most cultural institutions in the Parkway corridor will be open and even extending hours during the Labor Day weekend, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barnes Foundation, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences, Parkway Central Free Library, Fairmount Waterworks and Eastern State Penitentiary. But after exiting M.I.A., you won't be allowed back in.

Can't get there? Yes you can! Performances from both Philadelphia and Los Angeles festivals will be streamed live at MadeInAmericaFest.com. Kanye West and Steve Aoki are playing both events. Other L.A. attractions include Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, John Mayer, Afrojack, Iggy Azalea, Juanes and Weezer. Streaming is subject to the acts' approval. Last year's biggest draw Beyonce had 'em cut the cord after just a couple songs.
