Brad and Angelina wed in France, plan film with sex scenes

 ANGELINA JOLIE  and Brad Pitt were married Saturday in Correns, France, a spokesman for the couple says.

The wedding was small and private (good for them) and attended by friends and family (but not Angelina's father, Jon Voight, who didn't know, according to "Inside Edition") at Chateau Miraval.

In advance of the nondenominational civil ceremony, Brangelina obtained a marriage license from a California judge, who also conducted the ceremony in France.

Angelina walked the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax. Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals. Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers, the spokesman said.

This is the second marriage for Brad, who wed Jennifer Aniston in 2000. They divorced in 2005.

Angie was previously married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late '90s and to Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003.

* Us Weekly, meanwhile, reports that the newly married couple's next film, "By The Sea," set to start shooting in Malta, is going to be a small, character-driven drama with crazy sex scenes.

Even at age 81, Joan Rivers is among our most polarizing comedians.

Some people absolutely hate her. They call her vile, mean, nasty and those are just the words we can print.

Others love her. They either see her as a trailblazer for female comedians - working stand-up for more than half a century - or just admire her willingness to speak her mind and take no prisoners. To them, she's a funny force of nature.

So it's no surprise that when Rivers was hospitalized in critical condition yesterday in Manhattan after experiencing a cardiac arrest during a nonplastic surgery outpatient throat procedure, the Twitterverse exploded with love, prayers and best wishes from Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Sally Kellerman, Wendy Williams, Tavis Smiley and thousands of fans she'd never met, an assortment of "who cares if she dies" hate, karmic comments relating her condition to her views on Palestine and a fair amount of "Wait, she has a heart?" humor Joan might appreciate:

Joan Rivers reportedly stopped breathing and was taken to the hospital, workers on scene reported no facial movement which was a good sign.

As of last night, Rivers was in stable condition in a medically induced coma.

* The picture book Outlaw Pete, which is based on a ballad from Bruce Springsteen's "Working on a Dream" album, will be published by Simon & Schuster on Nov. 4. The publisher said yesterday that the book will feature the Boss' lyrics and illustrations by Frank Caruso.

Another rock 'n' roll superstar, Keith Richards, also has a picture book out this fall. Gus & Me, scheduled for release Sept. 9, is a tribute to his grandfather, musician Gus Dupree.

* The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said yesterday that it would present Harry Belafonte with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and give honorary Oscars to Jean-Claude Carriere, Hayao Miyazaki and Maureen O'Hara.

The awards will be handed out at the academy's Governors Awards dinner Nov. 8.
