Sideshow: NBC sprinkles pixie dust on 'Girls' co-star

She can fly!!!

NBC on Tuesday made the long-awaited announcement.

We already knew Christopher Walken (who else?) was going to play Captain Hook. He's creepy, crotchety, and the man can sing and dance.

But who'd play Peter in the network's Peter Pan Live!, to go on the air Dec. 4???

Here's who: Allison Williams, of Girls on HBO!

This is notable in many notable ways. Allison is the daughter of NBC news anchor Brian Williams. Noted. She also can sing: She sometimes does on Girls. She beats out other stars reportedly considered, including (we hear) Miley Cyrus and Kristen Bell.

Lena Dunham, proprietor of Girls, tweeted: "Allison is about to undertake one of the greatest drag roles in history and we are so proud we could burst. She will slay."

This musical, first produced on Broadway in, like, 1954, as you remember, has long been an NBC stalwart. Mary Martin did it three times for the Peacock (the first two, 1955 and 1956, were live-in-studio), the last time in 1960. Martin, Sandy Duncan, and Olympian Cathy Rigby have done it on Broadway. No dudes allowed!!!

Peter follows NBC's critically dismissed but extremely and surprisingly (to the critics!) popular smash hit Sound of Music Live! last December, starring brave Carrie Underwood. Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who produced Music, will produce Peter. If Peter flies high (no pressure here, Allison), could it usher in a new age of live (nonsports) TV productions?

Morrissey muscle mess?

This guy Bradley Steyn, supposedly a former bodyguard for singer Morrissey, is suing M because, claims Brad, M wanted him to mess up David Tseng, proprietor of Morrissey-solo.com, a website that disses M so routinely that M had considered suing. Brad says he refused and was fired the day after. In a statement Wednesday on fansite "True To You," M called Steyn "a complete stranger" and his claims "a vexatious lie."

Bloom bops Biebs?

Um, we don't know what this is. But some reports say Orlando Bloom threw a punch at Justin Bieber on Wednesday night in Ibiza, Spain. Orlando has been "seen with" Bieber ex Selena Gomez, and Biebs was hangin' with Bloom ex Miranda Kerr back in 2012. So there is symmetry. A vid is circulating that shows, far as we can see, absolutely bupkis. We're disappointed Orlando did not reach back, pull an arrow from his quiver, and shoot.

Small but definitely chewy

Is Katy Perry dating ex-Philly DJ Diplo? Could be. . . . Heidi Klum, 41, has shared the first couple-selfies of her and new skweezie Vito Schnabel, 28. . . . Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea will cameo in Fast & Furious 7, which roars into theaters next April or so. Vin Diesel, series star, leaked the news on a radio show. Others starring: Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, evidently under contract to appear in every other film all the time. . . . Justin Bieber is clearing out of his Beverly Hills condo (by end of September!) after numerous cop visits, and many neighbor freak-outs over his partying ways. . . . Wes Chatham (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) and wife Jenn Brown (American Ninja Warrior) are pregnant together!
