It’s been more than two years since Pippa Middleton nearly stole the spotlight from sister Kate Middleton at her royal wedding to Prince William in 2011. Now, the British beauty might be gearing up for her own nuptials.

The event planner, 30, and her boyfriend of over a year, banker Nico Jackson, 36, reportedly got engaged during their early December trip to India’s five-star resort, Oberoi Amarvilas.

Here’s what to know about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s future brother-in-law.

He comes from modest beginnings. Although Pippa has been linked to a few aristocratic beaus over the years (her ex George Percy is heir to the Northumberland estate used in the Harry Potter flicks), Jackson grew up in a middle-class family in Folkestone, Kent, and received a business degree from Kingston University, a public college in London.

He’s a self-made millionaire. Jackson is a stockbroker at Deutsche Bank in London.

Skiing is in his blood. Both Pippa and Nico love to ski. The couple spent time on the slopes of St. Moritz, Switzerland earlier this year, and Nico’s parents own a ski and sportswear shop (Landau) in Folkestone, which is 70 miles outside of London.

He’s in with the family. Nico joined Pippa and her family—including Prince William and Kate on a family vacation in Mustique earlier this year. He is also is said to have been included in a family gathering at Kensington Palace shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought Prince George home from the hospital.
