Ben & Jerry’s Honors Ron Burgundy With ‘Scotchy Scotch Scotch’ Ice Cream Flavor

Ben & Jerry’s is known for delicious ice cream creations like Cherry Garcia and Chunky Money. Now, joining the tradition of Vermont’s Finest is Scotchy Scotch Scotch, honoring legendary anchorman, Ron Burgundy (played by Will Ferrell on the big screen).

“Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch is a delicious ice cream and I hope Ben and Jerry consider my other suggestions,” Ron Burgundy said in a press release. “Malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter, and cheap white wine sherbet.”

Unfortunately for Mr. Burgundry (and perhaps curious ice cream aficionados as well), Scotchy Scotch Scotch does not get its name from scotch whiskey.

The tasty new addition, inspired by Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, features butterscotch ice cream with swirls of butterscotch and took the team several months of sampling to perfect.

This isn’t the first time Ben & Jerry’s has released a flavor with a nod to pop culture. NBC’s 30 Rock got the ice cream treatment with Liz Lemon Greek frozen yogurt earlier this year. And who can forget the infamous Schweddy Balls flavor, inspired by an SNL skit?

Ben & Jerry’s unveiled their newest flavor at New York City’s Pier 36, complete with a performance by Nutty the Waterskiing Squirrel and a scoop-truck-turned-Channel 4 News-truck with a troupe of Ron Burgundy look-alikes. Scotchy Scotch Scotch is available now at participating Scoop Shops and will hit stores in the next few weeks.

Looking for something to watch as you enjoy the Ron Burgundy-approved flavor? Paramount just released two new trailers for Anchorman 2, out Dec. 20.
