Miss America schedule of events
Through Thursday, the 53 contestants (from the 50 states, District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) will strut their stuff as a panel of judges evaluates them on: artistic expression (talent); presentation and community achievement (interview); presence and poise (evening wear); and lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit).
These prelims also serve as dress rehearsals for the main event, complete with choreographed production numbers. They'll be held at 8 p.m. today-Thursday at Boardwalk Hall.
Saturday at 5 p.m. is the traditional Show Us Your Shoes Parade along the Boardwalk from Rhode Island to Albany avenues. It will broadcast live on PHL17 starting at 6 p.m., with a rebroadcast at 4 p.m. Sunday on 6ABC.
