* Nora the Piano Cat

The musical feline skyrocketed to fame in a viral YouTube video. Nora was rescued from Camden and adopted by Betsy Alexander and Burnell Yow of Center City before she became a famous musician. Alexander said Nora learned to play the piano by imitating her.

* Darwin the Ikea Monkey

In December, customers in a Toronto Ikea were entertained by an adorable, coat-wearing monkey that had escaped its owners. They have been reunited, but now Darwin has 7,492 Twitter followers. Babble named him one of the seven most famous pets of 2012.

* Obie

Another Babble hall of famer, the standard dachshund is on a mission (or at least his owner is on his behalf) to lose 40 pounds. He even has a PayPal page to accept donations. obiedog.com

The Arizona feline was recently spotlighted in People magazine, has appeared on Anderson Cooper's "Anderson Live," and has amassed about 15 million YouTube views. ph.ly/grumpycat
