It's incredible, hardly believable, shocking. But, alas, it's true: Child Star Lindsay Lohan has been arrested for assault!
Police took LiLo Thursday at 4 a.m. while she was driving away from Avenue nightclub in Manhattan. LiLo, who all week has been living down the shamefest that was her first film in eons, the critically savaged Lifetime Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Liz & Dick, allegedly punched a woman in the face at one of the club's VIP booths.
The New York Daily News says LiLo told the woman, Tiffany Eve Mitchell, of West Palm Beach, Fla., to give her some space, then hit her. Mitchell's hub was by her side. "Lindsay Lohan got drunk and went crazy . . . hit my wife," he told the New York Post.
LiLo was released at 8 a.m. with a desk appearance (she'll have to appear before a judge at a later date).
Lohan is in a mess: TMZ says she's about to be charged for lying to L.A. cops about her June car accident. She claimed she wasn't driving the Porsche. She's still on probation in her jewelry theft case, which means any criminal charge could land her back in jail.
Brad Pitt, normal & amazing, too"This is what the most famous actor in the world is really like," USA Today says of megastar Brad Pitt. "Shockingly, weirdly, almost off-puttingly accessible. . . . a guy who's friendly, a bit tired, and exceedingly pleasant."
Matt Damon, himself a noted dare-to-be-normal type of celeb, concurs. "He's the most normal guy," Damon says of his Ocean's Eleven costar. "He lives in the middle of [tabloid gossip frenzy] and he's somehow found a way to not go crazy."
Pitt, a Missouri native, says he owes his groundedness to fiancee Angelina Jolie and their six children, Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 6, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4. "I jumped into this thing somehow as a tabloid magnet," the Killing Them Softly star admits. Yet somehow, he adds, he and Jolie have managed to "stay blissfully naïve to all of it."
Ewan: 'Star Wars XXIX'? Count me in!Scottish thesp Ewan McGregor (he of the winning, sly smile), 41, tells TMZ he'd be thrilled to don Obi-Wan Kenobi's hood 'n' cape and brandish his mighty Lightsaber again for more Star Wars movies.
Disney reportedly plans to crank out a few on its assembly line now that it has bought Star Wars progenitor George Lucas' company, Lucasfilms, for $4 billion. Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) also are in.
Jude Law: No longer young 'n' prettyOh, we beg to differ!
Jude Law, who was born in 1972 to two schoolteachers in London, says his teen-idol days are behind him.
"In a weird way, it's kind of a relief to think, 'Oh, I know I'm not that young sort of pretty thing anymore,' " the pulchritudinous middle-aged thesp tells New York Times Style Magazine T.
"It's quite nice talking about what it was like to be the young pretty thing, rather than being it," adds the 39-year-old who stars opposite the delightfully young 'n' pretty Keira Knightley in Anna Karenina.
Yet despite his supposed slide into ugliness, Law still was too beauteous for his role as Anna's not-so-sweet husband.
"I had to stop him [from] doing his 'handsome face,' " says director Joe Wright. He tells T that Law helped the uglifying process by shaving back his hairline, since his character is supposed to be balding.
Handprint on crotch? It's a Yoko Ono!A line of menswear Yoko Ono designed in 1969 for her late love John Lennon finally has been translated from ideas to living form. Ono this week unveiled the line made for the Opening Ceremony label, saying she created it to honor Lennon's sexy Qi, the hotness of his being.
"I was inspired to create Fashions for Men, amazed at how my man was looking so great," Ono tells Women's Wear Daily. "I felt it was a pity if we could not make clothes emphasizing his very sexy bod."
Pieces include trousers with a sheer seat that provides a peekaboo to the wearer's, ahem, cheeks; black pants with a large white handprint covering the crotch; tank tops with open portholes to the nipples.
Ono worked out the designs in sketches she gave to Lennon on their wedding day in '69 and later collected in the book Fashions for Men. Prices? $200 will get you a designer jockstrap, $700 a pair of boots with a built-in incense holder.
Neil Young to grace Atlantic CityNeil Young & Crazy Horse will play a benefit show for victims of Hurricane Sandy at the Borgata in Atlantic City on Dec. 6. Seems the Godfather of Grunge wants to do his own show rather than join the ever-expanding bill for the Dec. 12 Sandy concert at Madison Square Garden headed up by Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and Kanye West.
