Sharon Osbourne, who successfully battled colon cancer a decade ago, has revealed that she recently had a double mastectomy even though her breasts were cancer-free. The 60-year-old heavy-metal spouse and talk-show host tells Britain's Hello! that she was impelled to make that radical move last summer after learning that she has a gene that predisposes women to breast cancer. "As soon as I found out I had the breast cancer gene, I thought: 'The odds are not in my favor,' " Osbourne said. "I decided to take everything off and had a double mastectomy." It was a "no-brainer," insisted Ozzy's wife. "It's a decision I made that's got rid of this weight that I was carrying around," she told Hello!

"I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl," she said, referring to her son Jack's girl with wife Lisa Stelly. "I didn't even think of my breasts in a nostalgic way. I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time."

Brad Pitt, furniture guy

Brad Pitt doesn't have a fashion line or a perfume brand, but he's joining the branding game - with designer furniture.

Architectural Digest says Angelina Jolie's fiance has created a 12-piece collection in collaboration with North Jersey-based furniture-maker Frank Pollaro.

"I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered Charles Rennie] Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright," Pitt, 48, tells the mag. Produced in a limited, signed edition, the line, which includes a dining table, club chairs, and a bed, will be introduced at a New York show Nov. 13-15. (Info: http://pollaro.com/.)

When it comes to prices, it ain't exactly Ikea: Pieces go for tens of thousands of dollars, although a mass-produced collection may be on the way. "The same chair we charge $45,000 for might sell for a fraction of that," Pollaro says.

No Doubt yanks music vid

No Doubt has pulled its music video for the dance track "Looking Hot," after the group was hit with a torrent of complaints that the cowboys-and-Indians-themed vid features stereotyped and demeaning images of American Indians.

"As a multiracial band, our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures," Gwen Stefani's outfit says on its website. "Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize native American people."

Oops . . . she'll do it again

It's hard to imagine a literary debut as august as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's A Shore Thing. But that isn't stopping Britney Spears from trying. The Hollywood Reporter says the singing sensation is in talks with HarperCollins imprint It Books to write a roman à clef (like, whatever that is) about her life experiences.

50 Cent's favorite rhyme

"Go shorty, it's your birthday."

It's not exactly John Keats ("Thou still unravish'd bride of quietness"), but that extraordinary line, that robust rhyme, that epochal lyric from 50 Cent's "In Da Club," is the rapper's personal favorite, he tells Details mag.

Pepper spray pacifies Perseus

Sam Worthington was hit with pepper spray and a disorderly conduct charge Saturday in Atlanta. TMZ and People say the Avatar and Clash of the Titans hero made a scene when doormen refused to admit him to the Vortex restaurant/club because they deemed him too intoxicated.

Things got heated. A bouncer used pepper spray to pacify the Aussie star, then cuffed him and called the cops.

Tidbits 'n' pieces

Parenthood's Dax Shepard and his partner, Kristen Bell, are expecting their first child, his rep tells USA Today. "They're so excited - they're both ecstatic. They can't wait to become parents," an unnamed friend tells People.  . . . TLC's Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas tells Britain's Metro newspaper the band has plans for a new CD and reunion tour - which may feature a fallen comrade, the late Philly-born Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, performing with it on stage . . . as a hologram.
