Longtime newscaster Terry Ruggles calls it quits

Newscaster Terry Ruggles announced his retirement today after nearly four decades with Channel 10.

Newscaster Terry Ruggles announced his retirement today after nearly four decades with Channel 10.

The website for NBC10 reported that Ruggles' retirement will take effect at the end of the year. Neither Ruggles nor the station has elaborated.

Ruggles has held a variety of news jobs over the years at the station. Those include: news anchor, reporter, and weather man.

Ruggles reported on the strike on the World Trade Center, previous Olympics, political conventions, and other major assignments.

His role will gradually be reduced in the coming weeks, eventually stopping for good in December.
